About Me

Is Blogging Still a Thing?

Blogging is very challenging. I have dabbled in it a few times, with long periods of inactivity in between. I read about people who have had great success writing blogs. I can think of information I'd like to share, but knowing how to present it and organize it is still overwhelming to me.

I haven't spent a lot of time "learning" the ins and outs of it all. I am going to school for my BSN (Bachelors of Science in Nursing), and I have had to do significantly more writing than I have in a long time. I had a paper to write for one class, and some projects for other classes, and of course, the weekly discussion posts.

It did stir up some old desires to write again. I have never pursued it on a regular basis, just here and there over the years. I have written some poems, meaningful contemplations for friends and loved ones, papers for school, and I used to love writing actual letters to people in Word, because I could insert photos and do all sorts of neat things to make the letters unique.

I've been a nurse for over 30 years (most of those years as a licensed practical nurse, and during the pandemic I returned to school to get my Registered Nurse degree). I am currently back in school for my BSN as I mentioned above. Bedside nursing has been rewarding, but I am getting tired! LOL!

I am sure the pandemic resulted in many creative ideas for making money from home and developing ways to provide services to many people. Since then, there has been a newfound interest in the terms "remote" and "work from home". I can't deny that the idea is appealing to me as well. I am learning that it takes some research and effort in order to educate myself about the process. I must grow my confidence as well.

If anything, novice blogging gives me an opportunity to practice writing. I have been watching videos on YouTube, reading articles, and skimming through other blogs to get an idea of how to properly design and format blogs and other writing projects. I have no doubt that if I put forth the effort and research, I will be able to join the many other talented folks out there who are writing for the pure joy of "writing". I cannot know for sure if it will be a prosperous undertaking, but it's worth trying if it's truly something I would enjoy.
